A Brief History
Maxe Stainless Steel opened its doors in 1997. We rapidly climbed up the ranks in the automotive accessories industry. In our first year of business, we completed a project that would become hugely successful. We manufactured an innovative stainless steel nudge bar for the Mitsubishi Pajero and we soon became highly sought after in the industry. With almost 2 decades of experience in the industry, we are the most trusted name in the vehicle accessories business in South Africa.

A turning point for Maxe Stainless Steel occurred in 2004. We developed the game changing Toyota Hilux Legend 35 project. This project was a comprehensive stainless steel kit for the Legend 35. This kit consists of a roll bar, nudge bar with sump guard, tow bar, and rear step. The project had humble beginnings, and was manufactured for 600 vehicles. Our product achieved enormous success and we ended up producing over 6000 kits.
2007 welcomed another game changer for Maxe Stainless Steel as we became a part of the newly founded and innovative Autovest Group. As a result our reputation flourished. After this took place, Kilber, Rhino Linings, SA Canopy Centre, and Bucco Canopies became sister companies under the Autovest Holding Company.
Due to our unparalleled success and our innovative stainless steel range of locally produced vehicle accessories, we have created a trend in the industry. Manufacturers have now introduced their own personal ranges of stainless steel accessories so as to keep up with the evolution of the vehicle buyer’s industry.
